DNM attend VMware’s first Cloud Architecture Design Bootcamp

February 2011 saw DNM go to Orlando, Florida to attend VMware’s Partner Exchange and Partner BootCamps.

For the first time VMware ran a bootcamp specifically for “Architecting the VMware cloud”.
The VMware cloud architecture bootcamp ran over 3 days and was attended by 60 people mainly from the USA.

Day one covered design best practices for the vLCloud Architecture Model covering areas such as network design, storage design, security and LDAP integration. Day two mainly focused on VMwares vCloud family. This was a technical deep dive on vCloud Director, vCloud request Manger and vCenter Chargeback. The final day saw the previous days learning’s put into test when each group were requested to design and present their own public and private cloud designs.

DNM had 2 consultants present, this made up half of the EU attendance at this first ever cloud bootcamp from VMware. Our consultants gained a valuable insight into design and best practices when designing VMware vCloud Arcitectures for Private and Public Enterprises. It was a worthwhile trip not just for the learning but also the exchanging of information with other partners around the globe.

If you would like further information in relation to cloud architecture, vCloud Director or Chargeback please do not hessitate to contact us.
